I used Drupal 4.7 for a while, and although slow and clunky, it did one thing great, you could attach an audio file to a page node and the rss builder would pick it up and make a pod cast for it basically.

    I have a project that is launched http://herplaceradio.com ,

So we are currently workin’ on a way to try and duplicate some of this, I would also like for this "attached" file to play in a flash player, similar to the one on the front page. We have MODcast working right now for the main podcast, but we will be having a few. I’m looking for suggestions for other experienced members or new comers for me and my developer, we plan on helping with releasing snippets of our own as well.

I had though the use a TV might work somehow ...

Some history: I am part of a 2 man team of web developers for http://Wavestatic.com, we are currently looking at using MODx as our primary frame work, as client just eat it up, seriously great work!

Sorry, could you explain it littlebit more.. (I’m slow wink) So do you want to be able to "attach" multiple (undefined) amount of audio files to single document and it would make some playlist of those to that document and maybe to pages that list that document? Or one audio file / document and get those in a playlist in some top level page or what?

You could do TV’s to attach the files in documents for example, and when listing those documents with Ditto, you could use the mPlayer snippet to make a player out of the audio files from each document.. or you could take a look at this thread to get some inspirations.. But I’m not very much into these podcast things, don’t very well know what it means even, so if I’m all off, please feel free to ask more smiley

first, thanks for the reply, and I’m glad i’m on the right track with the TV.

Ok, Say you have a folder called "Topics" and on the hompage you have Ditto pulling the newest document.
You have sub folders inside Topics, and each topic will have about 5-7 documents, all with an audio file attached to it. (normally only 1 file, but the option for more is nice).

Ok now jump back to the hompeage/ it pulls the newest document, (teaser), and has an MP3 player with it, to play a PODCAST RSS feed as a play list. Best frigging mp3 player around http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?item=Flash_MP3_Player.

The trick is Ditto will build an RSS of the Documents that are published, but to my knowledge it won’t make a "podcast" as well with those TV’s or attached mp3 files to each of the documents.

My goal is to streamline the publishing process for the client. or user. I also fee the administration of the PODCAST should be on the manager end.

Again, this community is great, any help would be simply amazing, I would even pay for a solution, my developer is workin’ on this as well, but he’s new to the scene.

Ditto 1.1 Beta 2 has templateable RSS feed, so you could use that to make a PODCAST rss feed from the documents. I don’t know how stable that beta is though.. You could read that thread. But I’m pretty sure that you could make that RSS feed with Ditto 1.0.2 too, atleast by doing a own snippet that does the header and footer of the podcast rss and use $modx->runSnippet() function to make ditto iterate the documents and get the songs to the podcast rss feed.
