Hi folks,
I wasn’t sure if I was missing something or if I found a real bug, so I thought I’d ask first. I searched a bit and didn’t find anything related.
I have created an editor role and associated a manager user with the role. This user needs to be able to upload photos using the FckEditor Resources Browser.
When logged in as an admin, I can see folders and files in the resources browser. When logged in as the editor user (in either FF1.5 or IE6), I can see the folders, but not previously uploaded files. I can also create folders, but cannot upload files. The error message I see when using IE6 and trying to upload a jpg (that I’ve successfully uploaded as an admin before) is:
"Invalid Response XML from Connector."
followed a few seconds later by
"Error disallowed file type."
I’ve given the editor role every permission listed in the roles definition. I’m not seeing anything in my php error log. I’m not quite sure how to troubleshoot this, since I looked a bit at the FckEditor code (under /manager/media/browser/mcpuk) and didn’t see any reference to roles or usernames.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dan

Check the "User" tab for the individual user. There are some settings there for file access paths and permissions. Most of these will use the system defaults, but the filetypes uploadable need to be set or the "use system settings" box checked.
Thanks Susan,
That was exactly the problem. I was able to revoke all the other role permissions (including file manager access). Just by setting the file types that the ’editor’ manager user was allowed upload, the problem was solved.
Thanks again!
