        Thank you funkybuddah , after I read the post that you gave me, and some other post. It was confussing at first but I finally managed to fix the error "Checking if sessions are properly configured: Failed!". I think I would be helpfull post it here if someone has a similar error.

        What I did was adding a line of code that I copied from another post.
        http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php?PHPSESSID=d30c8dd0bbdf04783c09047acc810183&topic=6385.msg50869

        First I added this line to the /install/index.php

        @ ini_set (’session.save_path’, ’/path/to/session/folder/’);

        I have access to root dir. of my server. In my case this line was changed to

        @ ini_set (’session.save_path’, ’e:/modx/temp/’);
        // start session
        session_start();

        Then I added this same line to /manager/includes/config.inc.php

        @ ini_set (’session.save_path’, ’e:/modx/temp/’);
        <?php //MODx configuration file ?>

        It worked for me. I hope this info is usefull.

        Thanks again for a great forum.

        Best Regards,

        TNT

          You really just need to get a properly configured PHP installation that takes care of setting the session path. And make sure if you do it this way, that e:/modx/temp is not within the web root or your users session data will be exposed...

            Thank you OpenGeek for letting me know. I fixed one problem, however, I got a new problem the admin login screen, and I have been searching help but I didn’t find one specifically for this. Maybe you know another thread for this error. This error may have something to do with the previous error I got because it has something to do with session_start():

            Warning: session_start(): open(/tmp\sess_990cc24ba9d2a97c11559d9d5a0d1c21, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in E:\iso9000\modx-0.9.5\manager\includes\config.inc.php on line 41

            Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at E:\iso9000\modx-0.9.5\manager\includes\config.inc.php:41) in E:\iso9000\modx-0.9.5\manager\includes\config.inc.php on line 41

            Any help is greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

              Hi OpenGeek, I fixed the problem. It took me a while to figure that out. Basically, I added a line of code in the /manager/includes/config.inc.php that point to my temp folder outside of my root directory, and it worked like a champ. Thanks again for your help.

              Cheers,

              This is what I did.

              if(!function_exists(’startCMSSession’)) {
              function startCMSSession(){
              global $site_sessionname;
              session_name($site_sessionname);
              session_save_path(’e:/temp/’); //added this line
              session_start();
