I have a section container that holds a lot of different items. Each month I move these items to an archived folder so that they are easier to differentiate between the new articles being created. the problem is I have friendly URL setup and once I move these items into the archived folder and the urls change. Is it possible to have this archive folder ’transparent’ so that the urls

    Section > Article -- /section/article.htm
Section > Archive > Article -- /section/archive/article.htm which I would like to render as /section/article.htm

If this is not possible does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Brian

This is not possible with MODx, but I imagine you can achieve a similar result using the .htaccess file. I don’t have any links to help you out though, sorry sad

You could create weblinks (hidden from the menu) for each article after it is archived, in the original location with the same alias, though the better approach would be to do just the opposite and have the archived copies be weblinks; then you could simply hide the original from the menu/Ditto and be done... that way the permalink is actually the original URL, not a 301 redirect from that location to the archived location...
