    (Running MODx 0.9.5)

My server has gone down twice in two weeks due to running out of disk space.
I have traced the files that are growing to the modx_event_log table in MySQL:

    -rw-r----- 1 admin admin 2946048 Jan 22 02:06 modx_event_log.MYI
    -rw-r----- 1 admin admin 245644608 Jan 22 02:06 modx_event_log.MYD

Unfortunately, these have grown so large each time that I have had no choice but to delete them, even command line MySQL wouldn’t let me query them.

I can’t find any unusual entries in the Apache log for the domain running MODx.
Are there any known exploits that can trigger an uncontrollable loop when writing to the event log table?
Also, are there any settings that will keep that table from growing too large?

I am extremely confused as to how this is happening. I might have thought it was a MySQL backup error were it not for the fact that it is the same table each time.
I run several other MODx installs and have never encountered this problem before.

    Thanks for any help,

      Delete the template switcher plugin.

        Thanks Ryan,
Are you fairly sure this is what caused my problem?
If so, do you think it was likely to be a bot trying an exploit, or just a bug triggered by a benign spider? (the site only gets traffic from search engines at present).

The plugin has caused lots of problems on numerous sites, and will be removed from the next version.
