Hello... I’m new to MODx and this thread. I just installed MODx without any unusual problems and things were looking good until I tried to save the system configuration. I got this:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /hsphere/local/home/scottbdr/xyz.net/modx-0.9.5/manager/includes/user_settings.inc.php:48) in /hsphere/local/home/scottbdr/xyz.net/modx-0.9.5/manager/processors/save_settings.processor.php on line 73

I’m working with PHP 4.3.11 and mysql 4.0.26

    Any suggestions?

    thanks, scott

check your permissions in "/manager/includes/user_settings.inc.php" make sure you can write to the file.

Checked that, everything in /manager is at 644. I set them to 666 just to see and that was no help. It seems this is not just the configurations either... I tried saving a template as well it provides a similar message.

You should not set write permissions to anything inside /manager folder.. (other than the config.inc.php, but only during installation).

Try re uploading the files, some files might got corrupted.

Ok, things looking better now... So now that I’m done with the install, the permissions on config.inc.php go back to read-only?
