user registration and confirmation emails

Hey guys,

Quick question. is there any way i can do the following with modx:

1. users register online and automaticaly place in a certain user group
2. all users who register will receive 3 day free access to the secure documents after that they will be blocked
3. and most important: when they register i want modx to send them a confirmation email and also send one to the admin.


i think number 1 and 2 are pretty simple, but what about emialing confirmation emails ?
is there a snippet or somebody else done something similar ?
any suggestions are greatly apreciated !!!

#3 shouldn’t be to hard. you could use [!eforem? &report=`chunk_tpl`!] to display your registration form and send your confirmation email.

there is a better documentation file in the "assets/snippets/eform/" folder for the various params available. &report is the one you use for an auto responder I believe.

and to a "plugin" to eform what adds the new user, look at websignup snippet how to do that.. and populate the "blocked after" field too.. that’s it.

Here is the flow,

1. User fills out a registration form (5 fields: name, email, phone, company, comment)
2. Admin and User recieve confirmation emails
3. User is placed in a specific user group: ’support’
4. User gets only 3 days of access to ’support’ files, after that admin will have to manually allow access for that user.
