is the @DIRECTORY binding in version 9.2.1? and if not is there another method I could use to get a list of directories in a TV drop-down?

If you’re running 0.9.2.1 you should really upgrade due to the security issues. 0.9.5 is a tremendous upgrade, and the next release (soon) an even better one. smiley

yeah, I’m in love with 9.5 (ultra), I’m using it on a new development, this was an old install. I’ll upgrade though.

What I want to do now (to maintain upgrade-ability) is display a RTE where the content would normally be if a web user (of a specific group) is logged in. Is it possible to modify a document’s content from a web user interface? Can you point me to a thread or wiki entry?

I don’t know how this is related to the @DIRECTORY binding, but you could do a snippet that checks is webuser logged in and does he belong to a certain webgroup or not. If he is logged, return the document content wrapped in a textarea in form and register tinymce javascripts to bring up the RTE, then some save button to save the contents. If he’s not logged in, return the content just as normal text. Then in your template, instead of using [*content*] use [!yoursnippetname!]. If you want to continue more on this topic, create a new thread for it in the development forums.

If you want to use quickedit, you could synchronize webusers and manager users and modify weblogin snippet to login the user automatically in manager too if he belongs to a certain usergroup (or by username, etc) and then quickedit would appear. If you want to prevent the user from accessing the manager, maybe try to do a plugin for that (ie. redirect user OnManagerPageInit if the page isn’t one of the quickedit one’s, or something).
