I moved a site to a new server. I’ve created new sites on the same server with no trouble at all.

The Manager works fine. But the front-end is not showing index.php at all; for the home page it’s just dumping the assets/snippets/newslisting/functions.php file to the browser. Raw text. The rest of the pages seem to be fine.

The database looks fine, file manager works and all the files look fine. I’ve got friendly URLs turned off.

The site I copied from still works just fine.

I can’t begin to imagine what is going on here.

I removed a call to NewsListing on the home page and it’s OK, but ... huh

Maybe a line endings problem crept in when functions.php got transferred? Not really sure but thats my first guess.

Was it acting as if it wasn’t running eval on the snippet code? Like it was including functions.php but not executing it? I would try re-uploading all of the manager and snippets files and making sure that you use ACSII mode where appropriate. Maybe some snippet parser code got scrambled on upload. Or maybe functions.php is missing its opening <?php tag...

Turns out the file started with short-open-tags. I added the proper full opening tag and now it works just fine. So if this ever happens to anybody else, check out the .php file’s opening tag.
