I am just creating some pages in my site that will have thumbnail images and some text to them. A fairly simple catalogue if you like.
I have have manually coded in the required lightbox sripts into my template page:
i.e.
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/prototype.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/scriptaculous.js?load=effects"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/lightbox.js"></script>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/lightbox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />
I have ensured the links are correct.
I then add the corresponding <a href="images/image-1.jpg" rel="lightbox" title="my caption">image #1</a> on my catalogue page where the thumbnail is placed in just the html editor.
I open this page in IE and I do not get the lightbox effects! It just opens the large image in a new page. however when I run this same page in Firefox it all works perfectly!
Why is this happening? Any advice would be greatly apreciated!
Alternatively any recomendations on setting up a basic catalogue with thumbnail (linking to large image via lightbox) and basic text fields (i.e. title, description, colour etc.) next to it would also be beneficial I guess.
Thanks!
G.
Maxigallery uses lightbox doesnt it?
and
Your template should already have:
<base href="[(site_url)]" /> <script src="manager/media/script/scriptaculous/prototype.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="manager/media/script/scriptaculous/scriptaculous.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
notice the script src?
which versions of prototype and scriptaculous are you using?
thats important and also are you using any ajax to change your page at all thats important too
check to make sure its the latest version (i don’t think modx comes with the latest version) the latest is 1.5 it comes with scriptaculous
http://script.aculo.us/
other than that without an example I can’t really help
sorry
