I want to restrict the pages which a manager can edit.
I have created a user group (BoardMembers) containing the manager, and a Documents group (Reports) containing the pages they are allowed to edit, and all works fine (QuickEdit showing on the pages they are allowed to edit, etc.). However, the problem is that the website, from the webuser perspective, is divided into member pages and general public pages. The pages which are for general public viewing (i.e. no webuser login) are flagged as "public", which automatically puts them in ALL document groups, and therefore in the document group Reports, and therefore my BoardMember manager is allowed to edit them too!
How do I have pages which can be viewed by people without webuser logins, but are not implicitly in the Reports document group?

I struggled with the same issue, and I later found out that there IS a difference between the webuser doc groups and manager user doc groups. so all you have to do is create a manager user doc group (mine is Webmaster) and move ALL the pages in to that group (I used Doc Manager Module).

All the pages are still viewable to the public, but your managers will only see the documents that specifically belong to them.

        Ah - Got it.
I understand it, I think - docgroups are the same for manager and webusers, but the key is that if a page is in docgroups, of which *none* are linked to a usergroup, then it is considered public. So it can be linked into a usergroup on the manager side, and therefore considered private on the manager side, but not linked into a user group on the webuser side, so public there.
So in addition to creating a new docgroup and putting all pages into it, I have to link a generic manager user into that group, but no webuser.

        Thank you.

Somewhat correct, You need to create a new manager doc group and put all the documents in that group. it doesn’t necessarily need to be linked to any user. Of course, then the only user able to edit ALL the pages will be the root admin.
