Isnt there a way to have a web user (registered user) be able to use the function of Quick edit?

THis wouldbe ideal because Im only going to have 2 other people (using the same log in) manage the site im working on. I want them to be able to post blogs like a registered user but also edit any published content if they want.

Im so confused on the permission settings..I can get it to work If I make them a
Content Manager user-but then they dont seem to have blog abilities (and more imortantly I would rather not confuse with the manager interface).

Any suggestions. Im running in circles...

You would need to synchronize both your web users and manager users, assign web and manager document groups to the appropriate documents, etc. The problem is that the users systems are separated, which will be changing in a future release, but for now, that is the way it is. There is a component in the resources repository for sync’ing web and manager users for this purpose, I believe.

thanks for the heads up !
          Ill look into it..

          Quick question though
          in documentation it says:
Enable the "OnManagerSaveUser" and the "OnUserFormRender"

Do you enable that just for one particular user or for everyone?

          thanks again.
          Update
Oops my bad, That documentation refers to installing a plugin, which I had never done before. (but turns out it too is nice and easy)

          ...now to try it....

            OK ive tried it...
I cant seem seem to get ’quickedit’ to show up for a user that does not have access to to the web manager.-
Im sorting through user creation etc. but I it shouldn;t be this difficult to set up.

Is there something I should edit in the snippet? Or a T.variable I need in the documents?

Ok I finally realized that the web user I created needs to log in via the manager log in screen in order to both edit and post blogs. so I believe the web2manager is working.

However, when I login as that user it does not go to the page I requested it go to (I dont want them to have to deal with the manager interface) via ID. instead I get....a blank page at the following address....

              /manager/processors/login.processor.php

              any suggestions?
              TY

ARGHHH-never mind i was wrong its not working..there was just some cacheing magic happening..

erg..ok getting really frustrated at this point I seem to be doing something wrong and cant find the solution.

the main reason I want to use modx is for front end capabilities.

That is to say, I figured I could set up a site and have it’s main content editable by at least one user who logs in.

It appears one could do this as a manager and then navigate to the fronted and do some edits.
But is there no way to have someone log in, NOT view the manager and still have this capability?

Im in a rut because there is no point in continuing development on this site I’m working on if I can get that to happen.
                any suggestions? Thanks

There is an option under the user tab of manager users to turn off manager access. You might play with those options and see if they’ll fit.

Out of curiosity, what other front-end-editing solution will you use assuming MODx doesn’t work out?

uhm yeah I guess I sounded kind of b!tchy there. Sorry.
No, There isnt a better solution that I can see. Ive used xoops for very long time but there are a lot of things Im liking about modX.

Ok so I got it to work finally.
The only problem, and I dont know if this has to do with local config/
iswhen I login from the manager login (as the user that I dont want to see the manager interface) it Doess redirect..
but to the wrong place...http://localhost/modx/manager/processors/login.processor.php error?
its either that or Get a localhost/modx//modx/
(Note the double slash) where might this be coming from? Of course if I just navigate to the page in the address bar it works fine but the redirect upon login seems to be wacky.

Thanks for your assistance. Im getting this...

                    p.s
When my this user I created logs in...they see the reg quickedit And the floating Manager Quick Edit menu/logout...is that normal?

                      ok this sux,

Is it true that a ’web user’ cannot login to a site and have access to quickedit?
                      or maxigallery?

I must have something messed up, but then it occured to me maybe this is just not possible to do it the way I was trying to. Re-reading folder and doc mgt. now maybe thats where I have messed up...

                      TY
