    Hello,

I’ve been looking all over for the solution for this one, but no luck yet sad Hoping someone can help.

After about a month’s fiddling on a localhost at home (EasyPHP running on WindowsXP), I’ve just begun uploading my website to its remote host. Until then, everything was working fine.

One of the things that attracted me to MODx was the Friendly Alias Paths option, the ability to build a virtual folder structure, and I’ve been making use of this, but on the remote host it is suddenly not working.

Instead, I’m getting additional elements added to the path. This only occurs *on* pages within folders (linking to any other paths) and the additional element is always the name of the folder.

For example: my news archive is at http://www.intermundia.co.uk/repository/news.html. It includes a link to the home page (through the standard header logo), which should be to http://www.intermundia.co.uk/home.html - what I get is http://www.intermundia.co.uk/repository/home.html. The addition of the repository folder below the site url is repeated for all links on the page.

On the home page itself, and on any other pages at this level, it is correct.

I’ve tried the <base href="[(site_url)]"> fix, but it didn’t work - in fact the generated html for the above pages was <base href="http://www.intermundia.co.uk/repository/">. The actual links all have the folder listed twice if they are absolute (prefixed with /), but not if they are relative.

I’m using MODx 0.9.5, with Friendly urls, friendly aliases, and friendly alias paths turned on. Any thoughts?

    Please!

    Jon

The problem there is likely the fact that you are saying the site_url property is returning the virtual directory, which it definitely should not be doing. I can’t imagine why that would happen. Other possibilities might be issues with your .htaccess? Can you post your rewrite rules?

        Hi,

It’s the default one from the install, but here you are:

        RewriteEngine On
        RewriteBase /
        RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
        RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
        RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA]

I don’t have any idea what any of this means, or if anything should be changed huh

MODx is running from the root and I don’t have any unusual settings (that I am aware of!).
