How can I restrict pages?

I have no idea what I can do to make some of my pages restricted to guests.. And only registered users can see.
Please explain it to me in FULL details. So I know how to do it.

Also is there a certain user group users automatically go to when they sign up? If not how can I make this possible?

Ok But How can I set it up so that every member who signs up automatically get put in the "Registered" Group so they can access the pages? I don’t want to do this manually for every user that signs up.

doesn’t the websignup snippet have a parameter/setting where you can define that what usergroup are the new users put to..
