    I’m building a website for a school and have faced some problems while integrating modxcms for the first time in the site. I checked for these problems a couple of days on all kinds of sites with users of modx but couldn’t find a solution so im hoping that with this topic the problem could be solved.

    The website:

    http://www.haarschool.nl/mod

    Web Server:
    ----------------
    PHP 4
    MySQL huh

    Browser/Client:
    -----------------
    Internet Explorer 6 - 7
    Windows XP

    Okay here are the problems I’m facing:

    Wayfinder:

    Problem:
    My Wayfinder menu doesn’t work in IE 6-7.

    I used the standard Wayfinder 1.0 but the submenu’s don’t appear in IE 6/7. it works in FireFox though... I think the CSS is the problem but perhaps im not the only one with this problem.

    I used those calls but with my own CSS, even when I used his CSS it didn’t work so that’s why my guess is that it’s about multiple CSS files that are working against each other.. I could be terrible wrong here..

    Archive:

    Problem:
    Having an Archive

    I couldn’t find anything related to something like this.
    Basically, when you make a new document in a map the old one should be filed in an Archive page which has all the previous posts. I looked for 2 weeks and tried some stuff but it didn’t work..

    What I would like is to make a new page under a map and that ModX shows the latest post while archiving the the others..

    So these are the problems im facing, my PHP scripting isn’t good and to integrate it with ModX makes it even harder for me..

    Thanks a bunch in advance,

    Brandon

      Hi,

      about archives, you should upgrade ditto to version 1.1.2 which comes with Reflect snippet.
      It’s ideal for your purpose.

      ditto dl => http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,8988.0.html

      how to use reflect with ditto

      hope that helps

        okay, so the archives works fine now even though i don’t believe i’ve used Reflect in it properly..
        anyway, i have a problem with the css now..

        http://www.haarschool.nl/mod/index.php?id=83
        that’s what it should like..

        this is how it shows himself in IE7.. smaller.. perhaps an idea to get it working?

        Other main problem is still the Wayfinder.. it needs to work in IE!!! what can I do???

          I have similar problems at http://www.mc2world.org/mac3/
          On that page you see 3 menu groups which are working with the following definitions:

          <div class="menu" id="sidebar">

          <h2>Pagina’s:</h2>

          g1 g1 g1 g1 g1

          [[Wayfinder? &debug=`TRUE` &startId=`0` &outerClass=`menu` &parentRowTpl=`cssplay_revParentRow` &cssTpl=`cssplay_flyout`]]
          f f f f f f
          [[Wayfinder? &debug=`TRUE` &startId=`0` &outerClass=`menu` &parentClass=`hide` &parentRowTpl=`cssplay_parentRow` &outerTpl=`cssplay_outer` &innerTpl=`cssplay_inner` &rowTpl=`cssplay_row` &cssTpl=`cssplay_flyout`]]

          g2 g2 g2 g2 g2

          [[Wayfinder? &debug=`TRUE` &startId=`0` &outerClass=`menu` &parentRowTpl=`cssplay_revParentRow` &cssTpl=`cssplay_flyout`]]

          </div>

          <!-- close #sidebar -->

          They all work in FireFox but in IE 6 there are strange things as you can see.
          Menu group 1 works half, but as soon when the flyout menu is above the image there is a problem.

          Menu group 2 doesn’t fly out

          Menu group 3 works perfect. Most likely because there are no disturbing components (e.g. image) around as with group 1.

          A copy of the css file I am using is at: http://www.mc2world.org/mac3/flyout_revisited.css.txt

          How do I eliminate the whitespace between the menu elements. That would solve for me the problems on IE.
