    Hello everyone,

As the subject says, the site tree in my Modx admin pannel no longer works, not entirely sure as to how this came about.

As I live in Hong Kong I’ve been shut off from the internet for a week or so when it started to slowly trickle back and i logged into the admin panel (server in the UK) I noticed a distinct lack of documents in my tree, I assumed that it was just another connection error courtesy of the earthquake in Taiwan knackering all the cables. However there is much more connectivity available now that a few days have gone by and still no document tree loading.

Decided to check the admin panel in IE7 to see if it was some FF bug that had crept up, and was presented with the following error report,

    Line: 223
    Char: 9
    Error: ’Ajax’ is undefined
    Code: 0
    URL: http://www.saveyourdosh.co.uk/manager/index.php?a=1&f=tree

Its probably something that either myself or my colleague did because we have a second version of Modx on the same server and there is no error on that one as its pretty much unmodded, close to a clean install. Problem is I don’t think we installed anything that will have changed the site tree functionality at all, so its a mystery to me.

Any ideas on what has happened and how to fix it?

    Thanks very much,
    Chris

Could be that you got a partial browser cache load at some point; try clearing your browser cache, and also clear the site cache.

Gave that a shot, and still getting the same result from the admin panel.

Tried it on a few other machines just to be sure, same thing again.

Would be typical of me to get caught out by something obvious like that!

Only other thing I can suggest is to remove the manager/media/script folder, then upload it again.

Good plan that one, fixed it.

Tried doing the same thing to manager/frames/ but it didn’t help, didn’t think that it would go to scripts (I love learning curves). I compressed mootools in the scripts file and probably removed/broke ajax by mistake.

Thanks for the help, much appreciated!

Well, I’ve done some Ajax with Prototype and Moo, so I happen to know that the problem was that the javascript couldn’t find the Ajax() function, which is in the mootools.js file. So that meant that your site had lost that file, or it had gotten corrupted somehow.
