I hope this problem will be in some way solved in future releases of ModX...
As of 0.9.6 the installation script allows to specify both database charset and collation. Just make sure to choose a proper upgrade option.
Hi,
I am running Modx on a Windows Server with PHP 5 and MySQL 5.
I just installed version 0.9.6 with the default collation utf8_general_ci. Then I changed the language to spanish and all non-ASCII chars appeared as question marks.
So, I installed again from scratch and this time I used collation utf8_unicode_ci. The same problem: non-ASCII chars appearing as question marks.
When installing, do we have to specify another collation? Which one? Any other settings that we should change?
Your help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
