ALT tags for images when using TVs template variables

I wonder if I’m missing something here, because this seems like a basic requirement 

I want to add individual ALT tags for each image in a template variable. For example I need to set the ALT tag for each Project in a portfolio, with an individual tag line.

Is there an easy way to do this?

If you set the Widget to display as "Image", then you can set the ALT tag, but then it is the same for every page where you use the TV.

I think what is missing is that when you use InputType as image - you should get 2 fields; the image up-loader, and an ALT tag field.

Any ideas or hacks to get around this?

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but did anyone find a solution to this? I guess there is something i am missing as well. In the past i have just manually inserted the alt tag and the image src into an image tag. There must be an easier way that I’m missing?

Right, well isn’t that always the way. Figured it out 2 mins after posting.

For anyone else with the same ’issue’ here is how you fix it.

In the image widget, in the alt tag box i put

alt=’[*myAltTextVar*]’

Then i just created a new template variable called myAltTextVar... simple really.

Just make sure the TV is available for the template you are using.
