huh I upgrade my .92 to the latest .95 version. and now I have limited access to Admin areas.
Where I use to have a nice tab strip across the top and sub items etc underneath for various sections I now have a Site and a Home link at the top left, and nothing else.
If i decrease font size to completely unreadable then there is various items in a tree like structure but they are completely unreadable.
I tried with explorer and firefox with no difference.
I had a similar problem when I first started using ModX and found it was easily fixed through the site setting/configuration , but this time I haven’t got access to any admin configeration options. (I noticed some layout options in adimn just don’t work!- But never had any real drama as long as I used the layout with menus across the top!)
Anybody know any quick solutions, before I scrap it and reinstall (again undecided )

By the way it did this on my test server as well when I upgraded from 92 to 95? - fixed it there with a reinstall!

Once you’ve logged in, try adding this to the manager address:

      index.php?a=17

That should get you the configuration page, then you can select the "modxlight" template and save; everything should get sorted out there. I found this usually happens if you are still logged in to the old manager when you do the upgrade. It can also help if you clear your browser cache and the cookies set by your site.

        THanks for that.
It worked out I had to select the default theme.
Then at the bottom of the page is 4 option buttons with nothing around them, no text no anything just 4 option buttons in a vertical line.
I clicked on the top one and it went to a scoll type menu and then selected the bottom one and the top menus came back huh
I attached a small gif of the settings!

Edit: I also noticed that some menu option have disappeared - no menu name but menus are still there???

Those were for the original template’s choices of menu types. You should be able to select "MODxLight" as your template, then you may have to clear your browser cache and the cookies set by your site. Logging out and loggin in again may also help. You need to get the last remnants of the old template out of your browser’s cache. Also make sure to clear the site cache.

            Got me stumped tongue
I select ModXLight and it goes nuts.
I cleared Cache, site and browser.
Tried explorer and firefox on 2 different computers to no joy. Identical on all!
Menus are missing, some pages are not formatted properly, templates obviously corrupt etc.
Maybe the upgrade files didn’t copy right so I’ll try again.
I redumped my test system and it seems fine, yet the online site is playing silly buggars for some reason.
I’ll try upgrading again and see what happens - if not I’ll reinstall and hopefully backup the data.

Just make sure the manager/media/style/ folders are OK. The entire template is now in the one folder, such as MODxLight or MODxGreen.

Definitely sounds to me like an FTP upload gone horribly awry. Make sure to save your config file and reupload the manager pages to a new /manager folder. Just rename your existing one /manager-orig or something similar and give it a whirl. Then move your config file from /manager-orig/includes/ to /manager/includes/

                [NOTE: paths edited for clarity]

I’ve tried everything - including uploading the original .92 version and to no avail.
Going to have to wipe the site completely and start again. undecided
May be something in the DB or somewhere.
Works fine on test but not on host server. (Did originally - worked great...)
I’ll wipe the site and try uploading 95 and see what happens.

How about running the installer again and choosing update or upgrade.
