    hello,

    example code:

     ini_set('session.gc_maxlifetime',30);
      ini_set('session.gc_probability',1);
      ini_set('session.gc_divisor',1);
       session_start();

    // check to see what's happening
    $filepath = ini_get('session.save_path').'/sess_'.session_id();

    if(file_exists($filepath))
    {
       $filetime = filemtime ($filepath);
       $timediff = mktime() - $filetime;
       echo 'session established '.$timediff.' seconds ago<br><br>';
    }

    1. session is not started in IE 5,6 - example: [tt]"session established 0 seconds ago"[/tt] huh
    2. IE 7, Firefox, Opera - example: [tt]"session established 121 seconds ago"[/tt] kiss

    installation in "http://www.sitename.de/online/" (MODx 9.5.5 - (with and without <mod_rewrite.c> RewriteBase /online)

      Sorry, don’t understand the context of this code. MODx handles it’s own sessions, and this is working fine in MODx 0.9.5 with IE 6 at least. Can you explain what you are trying to do with that custom session code? That won’t work with MODx since it already handles the session itself.

        I know that MODx its own session handler has, and I understand this PHP code, but after some attempts I could not find why/how - this does not run with the IE6.

        Can you explain what you are trying to do with that custom session code?

        I have web-form,

        if all data are validate {
        important- are stored in session,
        }

        and indicated to others place/site. This does not function with the IE5/IE6

        And to example, if I call with IE6 this code (snippets)

        echo ’<pre>’;
        print_r( ’$_SESSION’ );
        echo ’</pre>’;

        I do not see data, but in all other I can see these.

          Sorry, but I am unable to reproduce this behavior you describe with IE 6. Can you provide phpinfo link or information via PM. Also, you claim to be using MODx 9.5.5 and PHP 4.4.10, which worries me, since in both cases there is no such release; I’ll assume 0.9.5 for MODx, and maybe 4.3.10 for PHP? :/
