Hello!
How to create an user account, disable the account by default, and only enable it when the user confirms the email address? Or, another option is, wait for site admin to enable it.
I saw in Weblogin there are mechanisms for account activation via email but no example support it.
Currently I’m using WebLogin/WebSignup snippet, which automatically creates the web account and enables it, so there is no email verification.
TIA,
Andraz

This would require a custom plugin to intercept the event when web users are created. Should be doable, but it’s not available out of the box currently. (Would make for a fine addition to the core though!)

I am interested in this as well. I think that currently only revo plugins and snippets make use of activation email technics, but i haven't be able to find something for evolution.
Yes, the Register snippet does that automatically in Revolution (and the Subscribe extra handles setting it up for you). I don't think there's an equivalent for Evolution, but there might be.

It's been a while, but WebLoginPE might do that.
Susan, you mean with the "activate" service of WebLoginPE right? But then the register button would have to have 2 values. One for the "register" service and one for the "activate" service, correct?
I found a small problem to the "websignup_activate" snippet and a solution to it:
If somebody wishes to change the messages inside "websignup_activate.lang.php" to his local languange and he uses special characters (like i used Greek letters), then he must change character encoding to utf-8 without bom! If you change to just utf-8, then you will get the following parser errors:
1)Undefined variable: user_attr
2)Constant XFORUM_MODE already defined
I moved the plugin code to the dev forum, there are quite a few changes so give the new version a try
