I would like to create a snippet to dynamically generate PNG images for inclusion into a MODx document AND/OR extract them from the DB for the same purpose.

but was not sure whether a conclusion was reached about the right way to do this... or at least, maybe the participants in that discussion were satisfied, but I would be grateful if someone could explain it simply. (I am happy enough with PHP programming and willing to learn the GD library - it’s the header stuff and making it appear as an image that I’m not clear on.)
