Hello all,
I’m sure that there is probably a very logical answer to this, but I can’t find it.
I am almost ready to hand over a new ModX powered site to a client, and I have just set up a new user account for him so that he can assume responsibility for managing the site.
I don’t want to give him enough freedom to break anything, so I set up an appropriate Role that will allow him to do simple things like editing pages, but which prevents him from mucking around with the templates and such like.
My problem is this ...
When he logs in using the new account, he can edit pages in the ’back-end’ no problem. However, when he chooses the ’Launch Site’ option, there are no ’Edit Content’ buttons available for him to use to edit the site this way.
I’m sure I’ve made some mistake with roles / user groups / document grounps and so on, but I can’t find it.
Can anyone suggest why the ’Edit Content’ buttons are missing? What can I do to get them back?
Thanks in advance for all your help.
Cheers

Are you talking about the "QuickEdit" buttons?
Did you put the QuickEdit tags in the template so that those buttons show up?

Hi,
Thanks for the swift reply.
Yes, I’m talking about the QuickEdit buttons.
When I am logged in as the overall site administrator, these buttons appear throughout the public pages of the site. However, when I am logged in with the new account that I just set up (which has more restrictive permissions), the buttons are not there.
Any ideas?
Cheers

Hi,
If your user cannot run module he won’t be able to edit with QE
:-)
Problem solved. Many thanks indeed.
I knew it would be something simple like this, but I just couldn’t figure it out.
Thanks again
