    Hi all,
I’m trying to install the latest Modx 0.95 on my webserver, but it’s giving me headaches sad
The install process halts at this point:

Setup will now attempt to setup the database:
Creating connection to the database: OK!
    Selecting database `modx`: OK!
    Checking table prefix `modx_`: OK!
    Creating database tables: OK!
    Installing demo site: OK!
    Writing configuration file: Failed!
MODx couldn’t write the config file. Please copy the following into the manager/includes/config.inc.php file:

Does this have something to do with file permissions? I know I’m supposed to CHMOD some of the files, but for some reason my server won’t let me.
When I copy the given text into the blank config.inc.php file, I get the following messages as I proceed:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at D:\inetpub\vhosts\de-silo.be\httpdocs\manager\includes\config.inc.php:1) in D:\inetpub\vhosts\de-silo.be\httpdocs\manager\Index.php on line 144

You’ll have to create a config file in the appropriate place. The fact that you’re on a Windows server means you can’t chmod stuff, as would seem to be indicated by your file paths. There’s a file in /manager/includes/ folder you can rename to get an empty config file to start with: config.inc.php.blank... just remove the ".blank" part.

It doesn"t solve my problem though, I already did what you suggested...

Unfortunately this is not an optional step. The config file must be writeable during the installation or the automatic installation will fail. If you are not able to give "write" permissions to /manager/includes/config.inc.php then you will have to have your web host do it.
