Because FCKeditor actually destroys code much more horrendously than TinyMCE... in fact, TinyMCE pretty much leaves your code alone. Have you tried it in the 095 RC3 release?

OK, getting RC3 now. If by some chance I still don’t prefer TinyMCE, FCK can be added back in to this release? I’m guessing since it’s not being maintained in the core anymore that I won’t get the nice things like integrated link selection, etc.?

Let me clarify this issue just a little. The mcpuk ResourceBrowser [....]
Sorry, If I had a dollar for everytime I tried to explain something this week yet was completely off base, I would donate the ten mil to the MODx team.
      Thanks for the clarification Jason.
And sorry for any added confusion.
By the way, I missed FCKeditor at first, because of the template icon (which I used a lot for blogs), but I figured out how to do it just as easily in TinyMCE.

Ain’t FCK available as a plugin in the resource repository? just install away...

I also liked the template feature icon in FCK. How can I do the same thing in TinyMCE ?
