I haven’t touched one of my sites in a few months. I just longed in to add a bit of content, saved the page, preview looked fine...now take a look at my site.

    Midscape.com

Nothing. I saw a topic on blank pages that advised replacing the files in the cache folder, but that didn’t help. Can anyone help?

Before adding the content, was the site up and running? If it was running, did you have caching turned on?

If you had caching turned on and there was content I suspect you’re running an install of 0.9.2.1, on a shared server with register globals turned On. In short, your site may have been compromised. The solution: upgrade to 0.9.2.2 or the latest RC3 of 0.9.5 (what I would personally do).

Dunno if this is of any help....

This is Google’s cache of http://midscape.com/sitemap.html as retrieved on 7 Nov 2006 15:21:41 GMT:

              « MODx Parse Error »
MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
« Failed to select the database ’midscape_midscape’! »

              Parser timing
              MySQL: 0.0000 s s (0 Requests)
              PHP: 0.0416 s s
              Total: 0.0416 s s

              ....so maybe it’s a database connection/corruption issue.

              Cheers

I had a similar problem. It could be any of the things the experienced people said there but in my case it was that I had friendly URLs turned on but I didn’t fix or tweak the hta file which caused this for me.

I’d also suggest doing a quick look at that as well.

Thanks Ryan. Upgrading to 0.9.5 seemed to fix the issue.

Is there any possible way to set register_globals to off on a shared server outside the php.ini file? Maybe in .htaccess?
