Porting existing site to ModX

I have a set of interlinked HTML pages with text contents.
I would like to quickly move it to ModX CMS environment. Is there a way to automate the process?
Or do I need to manually recreate the whole directory structure and then copy and paste the contents one step at a time?

There is an "import site" function in the Manager.
