    Hello Guys.

I just found ModX and i must say i like it very very much. I am thinking about making a website with it for a customer. My question is how i can hide all the "heavy" manager stuff from websites future administrators? All i want is basic CMS functionality (with my custom design). I was thinking about hacking "/manager" but it will obviously give problems when modx will need to be updated to a newer version.

I hope you can help me guys.
    Thanks

Create a customer user group and hide the scary bits from that user group. Assign your customers to that group.

To add a bit more detail, this is what "roles" are for. So create a role with just the features you want, then create your manager users group, then create your users, assign them the role you created and to the group. Actually, you don’t even need the group unless you intend to hide certain documents from them as well.

Do you mean a custom style of the manager? You can create your own or modify the manager themes in 0.9.5 fairly easily.

If you mean custom features, logic, or markup, then in the future, you will be able to add or edit manager pages in much the same way you do front-end pages now; but until then, modules and plugins are the only way to customize the manager without hacking the code that will change in future upgrades.
