I have a fresh installation (.9.5) where everything seems to work correctly except for the web login. I have searched and searched the forums and couldn’t find an entry where anyone else was experiencing these same problems...here’s the url of the default installation: http://modx.howeydesign.com.

Look at the web login on the right column - it looks as though it thinks I clicked the "lost password" link - but I haven’t! Also, if I go to "request an account" - instead of seeing the signup form, I see a message that says "you’ve been registered"...

    Help!!

Your fancy Javascript drop-down menus aren’t working either. Looks like a conflict in the javascript.

Thanks for the reply. I’m sorry, I don’t understand your reply -- this is a DEFAULT installation of the MODx system, so I’m not really sure what "fancy javascript menus" you are referring to. I haven’t modified anything from the "stock" installation of MODx...

I know, those menus are supposed to have a javascript drop-down (I don’t care for them, myself).

Check your javascript files; sometimes when uploading they get scrambled and line endings can be lost. Then any single-line comments suddenly end up taking up the whole file.

JS files (in the JS folder) look fine to me. I actually uploaded the .zip file to my server and unpacked it directly on the server...

Any other ideas? Any other information I can provide that would be helpful?

The RC# and from Reports>System Info, the Version codename, eg "rev 1942".
No, I don't know what OpenGeek's saying half the time either.

So you have done absolutely nothing in your installation yet? Just finished your installation and viewed the site? I wasn’t able to look at your site (using mobilephone), but i know that atleast mootools library breaks the menu..

                    Hi doze,

No, I haven’t done anything. I simply installed using the installer and viewed the site. The only thing I did was set friendly url’s to be turned on and renamed ht.access to .htaccess to get that to work properly. Otherwise, haven’t touched a thing.

I don’t get it. Does the login box use AJAX? Would that have anything to do with it? I’m and experienced designer/developer but not that up on AJAX yet (working on it!)...

                    Thanks...

Can you run Site: Clear Cache.

Comparing your site to my test 1942 build, I see many differences. Are you sure you’re on rev 1942?
