Any idea how i could do this using modX ? For the display of the categories i was thinking at ditto but i don’t know if ditto has a show only directories attribute, and I’m not sure with what i should do the submitting. Sure i could code something in php but i want to know if you can already do this in modX.
    Thanks for your help.

as Ryan (fondation) say : " A folder is JUST a page that contains other pages."

That is true. A "folder" (or "container") is nothing more than a document with the "is_folder" field in the database set to 1, and other documents will have its ID as their "parent" field value.

Snippets can use this field information to do whatever they want to do with folders, loop through them to get their children, not make links out of their titles, whatever.

It was this virtual tree structure that attracted me to MODx in the first place. It makes it very easy to create all kinds of interesting structures in a website.

            Thanks for the clarification.
Well now i just to make a webform that submits the link name(as the title), address and description (as content) and makes a new document. smiley and to implement a selectbox where the user can choose the "folders" where he wants his link to be submitted.

Shouldn’t be difficult to hack NewsEditor to do that.

Ditto displays summaries of news articles, it does not create them in the first place. When they are created they need to have TVs and tags and whatever is needed for Ditto to organize and display them as desired. That creation is either done in the Manager or with NewsEditor from the front end.
