SQL Rows

Hi all,

When i use modx db api, and makea sql query, like

$table = $modx->getFullTableName("xtr_usercomments");
$sql = "select * from $table LIMIT $start,20";
$modx->db->query($sql);

how can i get the results? where are they returned?

one way could be
$table = $modx->getFullTableName("xtr_usercomments");
$sql = "select * from $table LIMIT $start,20";
$querry = $modx->db->query($sql);
while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($querry){
echo $row[’usercoment_content’]
}

That is not the proper way to use the DBAPI, though I’m sure it does work. The query() function returns a MySQL result set. So...



Doing it this way will help ensure your components and/or applications work through future upgrades.

Same as array_push() function -- it adds $row as a new element to the end of the array.
