Hi guys,
I don’t know if thats the correct place to post this thread - if I’m wrong, please excuse
following problem:
on my server, every user in the cms has his/her own pages. accessible by /personal/username
for having existing links fit, I have a redirect in my htaccess, linking servername.com/~username to /personal/username
thats allright
now, some users wish, to have their /home/public_html accessible, so I enabled the module mod_userdir in appache, and tried to aliasmatch the pubic_html to servername.com/users/username
works allright, but only - apache still remains sticky with the tilde. so, when I call servername.com/~user1 it directs to his public_html instead of his page in the CMS.
Whatever I tried, I did not have any success.
Now I thought of following:
if user calls ~user1/filexyz.zip and that file exists in public_html, he gets that file
but if not, he is directed to /personal/user1
now, what do I have to add to the .htaccess in his public_html to get that?
and, will servername.com/~user1/testpage then still redirect to /personal/user1/testpage
?
thanks a lot for your help.
I am quite desperate about this...
