To make the database connection, you should include
/manager/includes/config.inc.php
Then use the variables to make the table/field selection.

смысл при нажатии на эскиз показывался fancybox с возможностью &slideshow=`contentflow`.

Currently, E2G doesn’t use this, because there is no Javascript action applied to the directory.
The concept is just different.
BUT, there is one slideshow that use directory as its source too:
smoothgallery’s galleryset.
