I am brand new to MODx and have limited experience with CMS so please bare with me because I think what I am asking is stupid, but I couldn’t find the answer.

I have a template that calls:

Latest news:

    [[NewsListing? &startID=`2` &summarize=`2` &total=`20` &commentschunk=`FormBlogComments` &tpl=`nl_sidebar` &showarch=`0` &truncLen=`100` &truncSplit=`0` &truncText=`Read more »`]]

    I created another page with
     [[NewsPublisher]]

When I fill out the form in the News Publisher I have no idea where the data goes, but it never shows up under "Latest news:"

I am so sure I will feel stupid when I get the answer, and thanks in advance for all the great work on this project.

You must call any snippet that publishes data via a form uncached, or from a page that is uncached: [! vs. [[

Ok, i fixed that (it begs why the template designer didn’t use [! vs. [[ ).

The News Items still do not display and i suspect that it is because there is some administration needed to actually "Publish" the item? Some approval may be required? I am just trying to get my feet wet with MODx and CMS in general.

        What else am I missing?

OK, so I figured out that to use the NewsLister and NewsPublisher you must first create a folder to store the news items and then set the "&folder" variable when calling NewsPublisher like so

          [!NewsPublisher? &folder=`x`!]

Sorry, I know this was totally newbie, but I couldn’t find this in the docs. Obviously "&folder" is one of many parameters listed within the NewsPublisher Snippet. Which was documentation enough once I looked there.
