    I’m trying to create a quick two column three row "document" with a background image using the default FCKeditor. I’m currently thinking of using a table and then set the background=, but would like to reach out to everyone to see if there is a better approach. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

      Depends on your content. If it’s going to look like

      block 1 block 2
      block 3 block 4
      block 5 block 6

      then a table would not pose any particular problems, since that’s how tables are "read" by assitive devices. However, if it’s going to look like

      block 1 block 4
      block 2 block 5
      block 3 block 6

      then you would do better to have two divs, floated, each with three container divs:

      <div id="left">
      <div id="l1"></div>
      <div id="l2"></div>
      <div id="l3"></div>
      </div>
      <div id="right">
      <div id="r1"></div>
      <div id="r2"></div>
      <div id="r3"></div>
      </div>

      and use a CSS file to set the two divs to the desired width and float them so they are side-by-side.

        I just keep hearing that I should avoid tables, but don’t want to assume anything.

        It will be used in the following order for each document:

        Item number -- Description -- Price
        10145 something 1.23
        52345 nothing 4.56
        81394 anything 7.89

        Thank you for your assistance.

          that kind of data is what tables are for. So a table would be a perfect choice for it.
