upgrading to beta rc1 info needed please

first off, i know its a beta, i just want to know if there is a changelist somewhere? and will all the snippets like the drop menu snippet still work properly ?

any thing else likley not to work upon upgrading ?

also , is the upgrade process simple ?

The upgrade should be a breeze, just read the instruction and follow
I upgraded 3 websites to RC1 yesterday, no problem.
But if you have a problem let us know.

Of course back up your DB first and also any customize file that could get overwritten in the process...

ok , is there a demo of the beta ? front end / back end .

and your saying if i do the upgrade my snippets eg maxigallery will still work ? its just code changes which need to be re done etc?

The snippet upgrades should in some case be handled carefully. You’ll have to check on the various support snippet threads about upgrading... there is no clear cut answer and I’d advise to skip the snippet upgrade at install. You can always update the snippet manually later...

ok, i think i shall wait for stable release... do you know how long untill its ready ?

also, ive seen the new style manager look with the green etc is that built in ? or a new css template for the current release?

The new template is a built in default template. Creating or customizing the manager template is now quite easy, including custom login boxes and welcome pages.

That sounds great, as when we build client sites we often want the admin control panel to match the style making the client think more work has gone into it
