Obvioulsy a newB question, but ya gotta start somewhere...
I’ve read the documentation (what little exists) and tried a bunch of searches but I’m still totally in the dark. What is Ditto suppose to do, and how do you get it to do it? There is some mention of blog, catalog, and others, but how do you actually use it to achieve these ends?
Is there more documentation / examples / demos somewhere?
Thanks, and appologies if this should all be totally obvious.

I feel you about the documentation. But people here are generally helpful.

Sometimes it is best to just try it out.
Ditto basically displays the content of a folder. So if your folder contains documents, it will show a sample of the text in each document.

Here’s how I search for information.

      1. Look at the documentation
      2. Then look at the wiki.modxcms.com
      3. Then search the forums (click the search in the black bar)
      4. Sometimes there is more documentation when you download it (in a doc) folder.
      5. Then ask a question after you have exhausted your search.

I know it may be a hassle to find the information you need (but it is worth it). But I feel that this is the most extensible CMS. I’d much rather have them working out bugs and adding requested than spending time on documentation. But hopefully more people will contribute to the wiki with more examples and more newbie info.

I’m working on my 3rd site with modx, and I still haven’t found out how to use Template Variables because I still don’t get the concept ;-)
