Too many forward attempts?

What’s the hell is this thing?

MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
« Too many forward attempts. »
SQL: The request could not be completed due to too many unsuccessful forward attempts.

It showed this when I tried to use the snippet BottomButtonBar (i.e. when I checked and saved the On*FormRender events)

It’s actually hell prevention -- keeps you from starting an infinite loop of forwarding. But that said...

I have no idea why it would be called from the BottomButtonBar plugin (I’ll have to look at the code), but this is the result of something looping and calling the new MODx API method $modx->sendForward() too many times. This method is now used by $modx->sendErrorPage() and $modx->sendUnauthorizedPage() so the appropriate document to handle each situation is forwarded too without changing the header response code (i.e. 404 or 401). But again, not sure why this would be affecting BottomButtonBar...

Ah! That may be the problem... looking at my (default!) configuration page, I see that all error/unautorized pages point to the same of site start... can be this a problem?

And, again, can this solve also the other problem: that now (after reinstalling from scratch) saving in the ButtonBottomBar it shows the homepage (frontend! not backend)? is there any way to write the reason of the redirection?

I’ll check into this possibility...it should be able to handle that situation.

Do you have your manager .htaccess renamed and in place with the single line:
