Thanks for the tip.
I realize I can use Ditto to achieve this, however, instead of making a separate document for each member, why not use some information from the profile? That would be really great since I wouldn’t need to duplicate information.
To prevent spam, it would be nice that their email addresses would not be displayed.
I’d like an easier way to display a directory of profiles (managed by modx) based on their group.
The benefit of using profiles is that the users can modify their own profiles. I guess if their isn’t a way to link web profiles, ditto would be the best option for now?
I’m not really sure what is the best way to do this. Ditto could work, but as you say, then you must have separate pages for every user.
What I’m planning to do is using the profile data and building pages dynamically from that. The snippet I’m making will create placeholders from three tables where one of them is a custom table that the snippet creates.
I can then create a page template which shows the users profile in any way I want, and also the user will be able to change the profile data from his "own" page (which is just a template with placeholders).
Listing users based on their groups should be pretty easy, I might include that in my snippet. I need that function for my self.
Sorry to not have the answer to your questions, but I hope at least it gives you some ideas. If you would be interested you are very welcome to use my snippet when it’s done.
Good luck!
I would definitely be interested in trying out your snippet. Thanks again.
