I’ve been playing around with Modx for a few days now and the main thing that impresses me is that I can finally use FURLs, over my current CMS.
Before I make the full switch I need to sort a few things.

I have checked around the forums/ documentation but cannot find the answers.

1, How can I have multiple summaries, (with ’more ...’ link), displayed on main page with latest posting, (by date) at top?
2, I find it easier, sometimes, to edit html/css files directly. Where do these files site within the site folder/ file structure on the server?
3, Is there a way to convert a (current) Nucleus based site directly into Modx?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

      1. Study the Ditto docs, it will do what you want here.
      2. Your template (html) is stored in the database. The css files are stored usually in assets/templates/MyTemplate/blah.css, whatever the link in the template head specified. You can, however, make a snippet that "includes" an external file for your template, and just put that snippet in the template field in the Manager. I would recommend doing this only during development, then once your template is finished, replace the snippet call with the actual template text.

However, if you make your template as basic as possible, with only the layout container HTML, and replace all display content with MODx tags (TVs, chunks, snippets), your template will be so short and obvious that it shouldn’t be difficult at all to edit it in the Manager.
