    Hi Forum!

I get an error I don’t understand when installing. Some background first:

I have a hosting account with Godaddy, I am allowed unlimited number of sites there. The sites all reside under the same root. My first install of MODx worked fine, that was the site on root level (/home/whatever/). Next - I have a site no 2, it goes into a subfolder but it is not a subdomain. It’s only the data that resides in a subfolder, it is referenced on its own with http://www.domain2.com. I’m mentioning this because It’s a bit strange to me that they have domains no 2+ in subfolders of the main domain, but maybe that has nothing to do with the error.

Installation goes OK, most of it. But towards the finish, there are these errors:
    --------
Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/whatever/domain-no-2/manager/processors/cache_sync.class.processor.php on line 78

Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/whatever/domain-no-2/manager/processors/cache_sync.class.processor.php on line 81

etcetera - same error on another 8 lines
    --------

The script still reports installation success. I get a logon screen after that as there should be but when logging on, I get only a screen of errors, then back to logon screen again:

    --------
Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/whatever/domain-no-2/manager/includes/settings.inc.php on line 9

Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/whatever/domain-no-2/manager/includes/settings.inc.php on line 10

Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /home/whatever/domain-no-2/manager/includes/settings.inc.php:9) in manager/includes/config.inc.php on line 38

Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/whatever/domain-no-2/manager/processors/login.processor.php on line 69
    -----------

I pre-created an empty database, that doesn’t seem to be a problem as tables get created (haven’t checked if ALL tables get created - but many are anyway).

Have re-installed a few times but no change with a total clearout in between. Have changed permissions to 777 on the /manager/processors folder and files just in case.

    Anyone with a clue here?

I don’t want to be an ass but why 0.9.1 and not 0.9.2.1 ?
Anyway it seems like a case of not accessing the database ?

          Hi Guys!
Sorry....my mistake. Of course it is 0.9.2.1 (rev1005). I just had a brain shortcut up when typing the post.

I’ve used the same files when installing site no 2 as I used for the first site (the one that works fine). I re-uploaded the content of the modx-0.9.2.1.zip into the subdirectory that is the root of site no 2 and installed from there (because I don’t know how to "share" the modx files between many sites - but that’s another story).

The database connection test in the install script says success and the installation produces 46 tables in the database, same number as in the database belonging to my website no 1 that works. Nothing looks terribly wrong with the tables, there are records where you would expect records to be etc.

I could try to get the latest beta instead and install that and maybe the problem goes away. But then again, I would rather have the same version of MODx everywhere and I would prefer holding off updating site no 1 right now.

OK; any clues where to look or what to try?

            Hi again!

Update! I installed the latest beta and that worked fine. It did tell me that I wasn’t allowed to have table prefixes with numbers only, I had to rename my table prefix from 1100_ to a1100_ and that worked ok.

That might have been the case with the older installation as well (assuming it didn’t have an error message for that).

Anyway, let’s consider the problem solved. I’ll upgrade my other site to the latest beta later.

              Hi guys!
              After installing MODx 0.9.2.2 (rev 1923) I got a similar error. >:(
Found solution editing config.inc.php and removing [TAB] character before <? and after ?>.
Hope it helps! Greetings from Italy, tongue
              see ya!
