    When I try to setup MODx I get the following error:

    "Checking if sessions are properly configured: Failed!"

    Everything else is "OK".

    I have no idea what the heck this means which means I done know how to even start looking for the problem let alone a solution.

    I would sure appreciate any help that might come my way.

    I’m trying to run MODx on Windows with Apache/PHP/MySQL; I created a adatabase called "modx" no tables were created. I also created a user named "modxadmin" with password and gave it access to "modx" database including full rights. I checked modxadmin’s connection outside of MODx and was able to successfully connect to the modx database; however when I test the connection inside MODx I get "Testing connection..." but never see any results so I’m not sure if a connection is being made or not. It lets me go on with the next step of the installation so I’m assuming that a connection is being made but I can’t be sure. (NOTE TO DEVELOPERS: I respectfully suggest that this is a very clugy part of the installation that could use some more work; it is very confusing)

    Thanks for any help that might come my way;

      Sessions and DB are separate items. Looks like your sessions are configured improperly, your permissions on your session directory are wrong, or your php.ini file needs tweaking. This is something you’ll have to take up with your web host.

      If this is a local test install, you could probably get it up and running in about 5 minutes with XAMPP.
