    Hi,

    I’ve installed an SSL certificate, but once accessing my pages using ’https’, I get the following:

    "connection partially encrypted"

    It looks like this has happened to many people using other CMS applications, but I haven’t been able to find anything how to make this work with MODx.

    Here’s what I found so far:

    http://forum.startcom.org/viewtopic.php?p=2041&
    http://drupal.org/node/55716

    I understand what they’re talking about in the above posts, but I’m not sure how to fix it with MODx.

    Any ideas?

    Sincerely,

    Sam

      First off, make sure if you are using a base tag, that you use the [(site_url)] tag to specify the href property and that it appears before any src or href attributes in the document...
      <base href="[(site_url)]" />

      Next, make sure you don’t have any src or href paths hardcoded with http:// in it within your document content. This way, all links to content in your site will be accessed using the scheme specified in the man request from your browser.

      If those two points are not the issue, let me know and I’ll help you figure out what else might be causing problems.

        That did the trick. The real problem was the Google analytics script. They allow you to replace the ’http://www’ with ’https://ssl’ and everything works well now.

        Thanks for your help!

          You can put a conditional in on the Google analytics code to test to see if it’s being served from a secure page or not and have it work properly. I’ve got to update the plugin to reflect that ... I’ve tested it in production and it works great.
