Before I bring this up to the 0.9.5 beta5 support thread, I’d like to confirm that I am not the only one experiencing this cache issue : documents are not cached anymore sad

Out of three 0.9.5 beta5 installs, I have two websites exhibiting this behavior and both are upgrades from 0.9.2.1 to 0.9.5 (upgraded from beta to beta over time). I have checked permissions (cache folder is 777, so are siteCache.idx.php and sitePublishing.idx.php, even if the installer does so @install) and ownership of those files : all OK. I have also checked document settings, and for good measure did a 0** modification to place all document in cache with DocManager. To no avail...

I am totally clueless has to why this should happen... Before I just erase the whole modx directory, do a fresh install and import the DB again, I’d like to know if nobody suffers from the same issue, I’ll have to give a look at my configuration (PHP 5.1.6 / Apache 1.3.34).

Even if you don’t suffer from this problem, thanks for telling me so !

Did you install the DisableCache plugin when you upgraded? If that’s enabled, then it will prevent the documents from caching.

        lol

        Now I look stupid embarrassed

        I didn’t think about it.

Actually, when I read we added this to the distro I never would have thought it would be activated by default upon install huh
Assumptions are your worst enemy, aren’t they ?

Anyway, I should have checked... thanks Garry smiley

But that raises an interresting point : shouldn’t this be deactivated by default ?

Not if you want the template switcher to work in the demo content. This raises a more interesting question though, that I think the template switcher plugin itself should clear the cache when changing templates... This DisableCache thing sounds like a support nightmare in the making.

Yes, it should. I started to add that, and so far all it does is break the plugin, but it’ll get there eventually. Unless somebody else can do it more quickly!
