convert email adress to unicode not working

Hello all,

I came across a site that seems to have a reasonable soultion for "limting" spam by converting the ascii address to unicode.

My problem is when trying to insert unicode into a page. In the modx or etomite page, the code can be inserted no problem. When the page is rendered and the source is viewed, there is no unicode. It appears that modx and etomite have converted the code when the page was saved during editing.

Is there a way around this
