Hi, I’m new to MODx, but loving it so far!

I’m currently test developing a web site on my local machine (Windows XP) using wampserver: PHP 5.1.6, Apache 2.0.59, MySQL 5.0.24a. I’m a fairly inexperienced web developer with anything involving more than html and css, but know enough to get myself into trouble. smiley

I’ve implemented FURLs, and it’s working fine for the most part. The only problem I have is how my home page is referenced in DropMenu. The page resides at http://localhost/mySite/, but the DropMenu URL for it is http://localhost/mySite/1/. I’d like DropMenu to display - and resolve to - http://localhost/mySite/.

I’ve tried modifying the .htaccess file, but have had no luck with it so far. Any suggestions on how - or if - this can be accomplished?

I don’t think this can be done in MODx. You could create an htaccess rewrite rule to do so I suppose, but that’s not anything I can comment on. Someone will chime in I’m sure. smiley

Thanks for the input, Ryan. I assume the lack of other responses means you’re probably right, it can’t be done.

If that’s the case, is there a way to not include the home page link on the dropmenu? I tried to deselect the "Show in menu" box for the home page in the manager, but that doesn’t work.

Convert to Wayfinder which supports it. smiley

hmmm... seems that every time I uncheck ’show in menu’ in the manager and save the file, it doesn’t stick. The check automatically returns. Is there a setting somewhere that I’m missing?

Probably a bug that surfaced when several TVs come into play on the page with 0.9.2.x. Upgrade to latest public beta and it should work (of 095). BTW, 095 release is really close, so you might want to grab the current trunk actually if you can.

Thanks Ryan, the upgrade fixed the problem.
