I’m looking for a very specific thing, I have no idea if modx is the place where I can find it, or even if what I’m looking for exist at all. I’m going to take on a web project that will involve the cooperation of multiple people over the net. To help facilitate this, I would like to have some way to have all of us be able to share and view a design document, comment, edit it at will. Google docs you say? I love google docs, it’s great. But unfortunately, google docs works based on a per document basis, there is no cohesive whole towards a project.

I can’t rapidly switch for example, from one document to another document from within the document. That is, viewers cannot directly link to each document from document. There’s no nav. Each doc has an obscene url which belies any attempt to make it into a "system". I want organization within a project, a mindmap nav would be perfect. I tried to use a wiki, but unfortunately it is stupidly hard to use, I don’t want to have to put my users through that.

Is there something in modx that can help me? Or is the solution present elsewhere? Thank you all very much!

You *could* cobble together something in MODx, but I’m concerned that you think a wiki is stupidly hard to use - this suggests you’re trying to do something a bit more advanced than just lots of interlinked text documents.

What exactly is a design document? Does it involve pictures and layout, or is it just hyperlinked text?
No, I don't know what OpenGeek's saying half the time either.

It sounds like the thing you need is a wiki. Here’s some wiki software that actually has a literal mind-map component: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WikkaWiki, and for more custom software, check out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mind_map.
