hi,
i’m getting started with modx. i installed it locally, and everything was ok, so i uploaded it to my web hosting.
when i log in to the manager and click on an item in the top menu, it opens the page full screen, not in the right hand frame like it’s meant to. since the code works locally there’s nothing wrong there. that pretty much leaves server configuration.
i’ve got FF with the inspect this mod though, and it shows 2 errors:
"top.scripter has no properties" (index.php?a=53 line 30), and
"rpcNode has no properties" (index.php?a=1&f=3 (line 133)
my server is using:
php 4.4.4 with mysql 4.0.25
i’m using FF 1.5.0.6 on linux
has anyone any ideas. the frameset isn’t working for some reason (the target="main" is being ignored). i’ve renamed the .htaccess file in the /manager/ directory to disable url rewriting (i’m using pretty urls).
i found another question about this, and the answer was to do with AllowOverride None being set in the httpd.conf file - well, that’s not the case for me otherwise i wouldn’t be able to use .htaccess files for mod_rewrite. it’s possible some options are disabled, but i’ve tried putting Options +All in my .htaccess file, but it made no difference.
thanks in advance,
al

Do you have plugins installed in Fx?

yes, loads.
what’s odd as well is that i can’t log in to the manager using konqueror. i’m putting in the right u/n and p/w, but it’s just sitting at the log in screen
I’ve had the frame problem in FireFox since I started using MODx a long time ago. Using the latest FireFox (1.5.0.7) with Webdeveloper, TabX, IEtab, Google Toolbar, Mozilla Calendar, and color contrast analyser extensions.

wow, you’re right. i didn’t even think it could have been the mighty FF, but it turns out this is a FF issue. i’ve just downloaded opera, and it works fine. thanks for your help.

My personal FF 1.5.0.7 with Firebug + Webdev Toolbar + Tabbrowser Prefs + TabFX + a few more on OS X does just fine. I’d take a look at TabX or IEtab.

Please remove [resolved] from the subject - I don’t think that switching browsers resolves the problem for most people, as they probably want to keep using FireFox.

pretty odd, but it seems to be working today. i don’t have any of those extensions listed above, but i’ve just updated some of the ones that i do have and now ff is working with the manager. there must have been a conflict somewhere...
