I’m wondering if it’s possible to deactivate quick edit on specific page. Theire is no response to the following post :
    http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,1228.0.html

My problem is that I create a XML file where QuickEdit adds its code when I’m logged in manager. So the file is corrupted and I can’t see the result without logout the manager.

Any update for this kind of feature or any trick to avoid it ?

    Thanks

Trick 1: Switch browser (IE Tab is handy for this in Firefox)
Trick 2: Visit yourdomain.com instead of www.yourdomain.com (usually different session)

      BUT:
Neither my 0.9.2.1 or 0.9.5 add QuickEdit to XML files; indeed I don’t know what it would attach itself to!
Are you sure you don’t have a HTML template set for your XML file?
No, I don't know what OpenGeek's saying half the time either.

As Paul says, QuickEdit shouldn’t attach itself to your XML files - it looks for the presence of the </head> tag to insert the JS into the page, so if you are using the blank template (which you should be for XML files) then there will be no </head> tag for it to find.

Of course, if you truly wanted to disable QuickEdit for certain pages then one of the ways I can think of is to create a TV to indicate whether QuickEdit should be used and then hack the plugin code to check the TV value in addition to the existing managerValidated check to evaluate whether the plugin should execute or not.

          Thanks for your reponses

In fact this is a xml file which have the text </head> in is code. This is the reason why QuickEdit add its code.
I will try one of your trick. Perhaps QuickEdit need to be updated ?

If there’s a need to have </head> in XML files, which I was unaware of, then it would seem a good idea for QuickEdit to also check the Content Type, and only add itself to text/html pages.
