Hi! I’m trying to install ModX on my site hosted by GoDaddy. I was successful in all steps except with the config_check.inc.php test. I use FileZilla and wanted to change the permissions on that file to reflect the ’777’. In FileZilla I right clicked the file > Change File Attributes > and checked all the boxes (and on a subsequent try typed in 777 next to the "numeric" box). However, the output I received is as follows:

    Command: SITE CHMOD 777 /swimmifish/manager/includes/config_check.inc.php
Response: 500 ’SITE CHMOD 777 /swimmifish/manager/includes/config_check.inc.php’: command not understood

I’ve read some posts on here that have indicated successful installation of ModX on GoDaddy servers, so I assume what I want to do is possible. Can someone assist?

    Thanks!

Try if you can set 755 to the folders and 644 to the files inside cache folder.. GoDaddy might be running phpsuexec, more info here:
